Launched in 2025, the Mauloa SMB Accelerator was designed to identify and empower high-potential businesses in the Washington, D.C. area. The program provided participants with strategic guidance in working capital empowerment, marketing architecture, and culture-as-a-strategy, culminating in the selection of one winner that could receive significant capital backing.

FRA, a Rockville-based firm specializing in comprehensive fire protection and risk mitigation, utilized the accelerator to optimize its talent acquisition strategy as it prepares to open a new facility in Cambridge, which is projected to create hundreds of jobs in the region.

The accelerator also highlighted the achievements of two other participants, both of whom made significant strides during the program:
- Battle Tested Security: A veteran-owned security services leader for live events, Battle Tested launched its nonprofit arm, the Battle Tested Foundation, to further support the veteran community.
- Hallaton Environmental Linings: An expert in containment solutions for critical infrastructure, Hallaton successfully sharpened its strategic focus on the coal ash sector during the accelerator.
The Mauloa SMB Accelerator differs from traditional programs by focusing on established, revenue-generating companies and offering a unique "minority-stake" investment model that preserves business owner control. Following the success of this inaugural cohort, Mauloa plans to continue the program in 2026, both in the DC-area and possibly one other city.
